At first, 1019 horsepower may seem extreme for an electric sedan like the Model S Plaid or Lucid Air Sapphire; but Porsche claims this Taycan Turbo GT equipped with their Weissach package can accelerate from zero to 60 in just 2.1 seconds and reach top speeds of 190 mph.
Power
The 2025 Porsche Turbo GT electric sedan provides enhanced dynamics within an affordable four-seat package that remains luxurious Grand Tourer. Most notable among its upgrades is an increase in total system power as well as a more powerful rear motor.
It has yielded a car capable of reaching 60mph in under three seconds and reaching peak performance with just the press of a button.
Contrasting other Taycan models that feature steel springs, the Turbo GT uses an adaptive air suspension with two-chamber dampers to better balance ride comfort with handling precision.
This new setup is also standard on the Weissach Package, which reduces some luxury features to create a track-focused race car. Changes include new power electronics package, more powerful rear motor and faster DC fast charging system – at peak power output both Turbo GT and Weissach Package produce 1019 horsepower respectively.
Performance
The Taycan is an attractive EV that exudes performance. Even with less weight, its Turbo GT model can reach 60 miles per hour in under 2 seconds. When equipped with Porsche’s Weissach Package, additional downforce from its fixed carbon-fiber rear wing of up to 485 pounds of downforce can be generated as well as deletion of driver side charge port deletion as well as addition of underfloor air guides and badged air guides, helping it shed another 157 pounds from weight reduction.
Internally, this two-seater features Race-Tex seats with 18-way electric adjustment and a unique model badge. A new dial on the steering wheel enables users to activate Attack Mode; this provides up to 160 horsepower in 10 seconds of boost power for increased rear differential stiffening as well as modified driving dynamics and throttle response so you can push harder at the track without losing control.
Design
The Taycan Turbo GT sets a new benchmark for electric sedans, offering power and speed reminiscent of Porsche 911 while maintaining the measured character associated with an EV. While wide tires and low center of gravity contribute, what really distinguishes this top-dog EV is its tactile quality; even light touches on its thin-rim steering wheel reveal exactly how grained asphalt is as you feel any changes in road camber or camber change.
The Turbo GT stands apart from its siblings by virtue of improved power electronics and an all-new rear axle motor, boasting up to 1019 horsepower in Launch Control mode and more beyond that.
The Weissach Package takes things a step further, forgoing driver’s side charging ports in favor of weight savings while adding a fixed carbon fiber rear wing and exclusive front fender vents with functional air deflectors for air deflection, plus either Pale Blue or Purple Sky Metallic paint options.
Technology
Driving the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT offers an unforgettable combination of Porsche luxury and cutting-edge electric technology, taking what was already the fastest series-production car to a whole new level of speed.
This incredible new model accelerates from zero to 60 in just 2.1 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 9.4 seconds – thanks to a powerful 900 amp rear motor and 920 horsepower front motor!
Even more impressively, it offers up to 269 miles of driving range per single charge and can achieve full battery charge in 18 minutes with its new DC fast charger.
Power electronics designed specifically for electric sports sedans provide outstanding dynamic performance. Models with the Weissach Package deliver 777 horsepower, but can temporarily increase to 1092 via Launch Control if needed. Recently they set a record lap time at Laguna Seca that showcased their track prowess.
